Youth Protection is one of the very few requirements in Scouting that is absolutely mandatory. Unlike some optional electives or activities, we take this requirement very seriously — there is no participation in overnight camping, or leadership roles that interact with youth for adults who have not met the youth protection standards.

You will need to complete both the Scouting America and California training.
For the Scouting Training, the fee is currently $65 (2025) and takes approximately 1.5 hours.
For the California training, our council is the Pacific Skyline Council

The California training costs approximately $40 (2025) and takes approximately 2 hours.
We currently ask our parent volunteers to pay these fee. We intend to fundraise in the future to help pay for these fee (we do not like the “pay to volunteer” model), but we do not have funds for this yet.
